From the book Don’t Judge A Book By Its Cover.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
If you shine your light bright enough and keep your faith and faithfulness in the living God, darkness and death will have no hold on you. And if you use God as your lamp to light the way in the wilderness, darkness, or valley of death, you will find your way out of the darkness and into the light.
You may have walked the wrong road and feel like you’re walking in the darkness. But if you use God as your light, you will find your way out of there, and He will help to lift you out of there.
There’s no pit too deep for God to lift you out of, no darkness that He can’t lift you out of, and you can never be so lost that you can’t be found by God so that He can help you back on the right track.
The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.
For it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: “Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
