Some of the greatest minds in history were able to stay calm and unaffected by their surroundings no matter what their circumstances where like. In the midst of battles and storms they were able to maintain their inner peace.
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you felt like panicking? And wondered how you were going to be able to handle the situation? This is the time you more than ever have to just stop, take a deep breath, silence you mind and body, and just trust God.
To give God the ability to guide and speak to you, you have to silence your mind so that you can hear His guidance and see what your gut feeling is telling you.
Panicking won’t get you anywhere, staying calm will. By staying calm it will be easier to deal with difficult circumstances, and it will be easier to hear God’s Guidance.
Stay Still In The Storm
Whenever there’s a storm in your life and it rains with difficulties, tests, and trials, you have the choice to panic, worry, and fear or to stay still and trust in God. You cannot still a storm with a fearful, stormy, and stressed mind.
“Jesus Stills the Sea”
Now on one of those days Jesus and His disciples got into a boat, and He said to them, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they launched out. But as they were sailing along He fell asleep; and a fierce gale of wind descended on the lake, and they began to be swamped and to be in danger. They came to Jesus and woke Him up, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!”
And He got up and rebuked the wind and the surging waves, and they stopped, and it became calm. And He said to them, “Where is your faith?” They were fearful and amazed, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him?”
Jesus could still the storm because He was still and peaceful himself and had faith that the storm would still. The disciples were stormy, stressed, and fearful and had no possibility of stilling the storm.
And this is something we can learn from when there are life events happening that are frightening or distressing; we can stop, take a deep breath, and say to God, “I trust you; I know you will take care of this and work everything out for my good.”
Faith is the only thing that can keep you peaceful and free of worries. And you cannot be fearful and faithful at the same time; fear cannot take control over and still a storm, only faith can. Don’t tell God how big your storm is; tell the storm how big your God is.
God Can’t Take The Test For You
God can’t walk the steps for you, but He can give you the strength to walk them and walk beside you.
God can’t take the test for you, but He can patiently wait for you to pass the test, like a teacher sits and waits until you finish when you take your exam.
He can guide you and give you strength, but you have to use the wisdom God has given to you in theory and put it into practice. We never learn anything if we don’t go through hardships, or if others always do the hard work for us.
You have been given the strength you need to overcome every test you’re being put through. In God’s world you don’t fail, you get to take the test again and again until you pass it and succeed. The only way to fail is to give up; never giving up is a guarantee of success.
Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.
