“Your talent is God’s gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God.”
Every day when you wake up you should ask yourself: “How can I use and develop my natural gifts and talents today?” “What can I do to improve myself and what can I do today that will make me better than I was yesterday?” “What can I do today to help somebody else improve their lives?”
Your talents and blessings are given to you for a reason, it’s there to be used and shared with others. You are blessed, so that you can be a blessing to others.
Many people claim that they don’t have any gifts or talents, but that’s simply not true. Everybody has something they are good at, something they like to do more than other things. You can be gifted with a natural ability to be good at encouraging and motivating other people. Maybe you’re great at making delicious meals and knowing just the right ingredients to make it taste just right. Or maybe you’re great with numbers and accounting. Perhaps you’re really good at learning languages and have a natural teaching ability? Everybody is good at something, that includes You.
Well how can I use these natural talents and abilities to bless and help others? Some may ask.
If you’re good at cooking, then make your delicious and loving meals and share some with homeless people. Or maybe there’s somebody who need voluntary cooks for homeless people somewhere in your town?
If you’re good at motivating people, then do that as much as you can.
If you’re good with numbers and accounting, maybe there’s a ministry in your area that need your help and service?
If you’re good at learning languages and teaching, then why not sign up to be a voluntarily language teacher to people who need it? There’s always somebody who are in need of you gift, your talent and your service. There’s only one of you, and only you can be best at being you, and do best what you do.
We are all equal in Christ, we all have equally important gifts, and we should all be grateful for whatever gift we have been given. If you use your gifts and blessings you get to keep them.
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
1 Peter 4:10
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.
