Safe In The Storm

“When there’s darkness on earth, be a Light in the world.”

When God sent plagues to destroy the enemies of the Israelites who were slaves in Egypt, the plagues only affected their enemies while the Israelites were kept safe.

Sometimes God sends a storm to defeat your enemies and also to show you His power to keep you safe in the midst of it.

Sometimes God brings us through deep waters not to drown us, but to cleanse us and puts us through the fire to burn of any bondage and to free us from any slavery we’re in.

Replace your fear with faith and any time you feel fear just say to God “sorry for not trusting you, give me the strength and understanding to understand the Good plan you have for my life.”

When you feel the pressure; pray. When you’re in the midst of a storm; pray. When Jesus and his disciples were on the boat, Jesus calmed the storm through prayer and faith. Jesus was still and stable on the inside, and so should you be trusting God’s perfect plan.

Jesus Calms the Storm
(Matthew 8:23-27)

When He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him. Suddenly a violent storm came up on the sea, so that the boat was engulfed by the waves; but Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”

“You of little faith,” Jesus replied, “why are you so afraid?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it was perfectly calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the sea obey Him!”

Isaiah 25:4

You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall

Isaiah 4:6

There will be a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and refuge and protection from the storm and the rain.

Psalm 107:23-33

Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do business on great waters; they have seen the works of the LORD, And His wonders in the deep. For He spoke and raised up a stormy wind, Which lifted up the waves of the sea.

They rose up to the heavens, they went down to the depths; their soul melted away in their misery. They reeled and staggered like a drunken man, and were at their wits’ end. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, And He brought them out of their distresses.

He caused the storm to be still, So that the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad because they were quiet, So He guided them to their desired haven.

Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, and for His wonders to the sons of men! Let them extol Him also in the congregation of the people, and praise Him at the seat of the elders.

Isaiah 4:2-7

A Remnant Prepared

In that day the Branch of the LORD will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth will be the pride and the adornment of the survivors of Israel. It will come about that he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy—everyone who is recorded for life in Jerusalem.

When the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and purged the bloodshed of Jerusalem from her midst, by the spirit of judgment and the spirit of burning, then the LORD will create over the whole area of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud by day, even smoke, and the brightness of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory will be a canopy. There will be a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and refuge and protection from the storm and the rain.
